Farah Khan revealed in a recent interview that she was asked to choreograph all the songs of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. She was called to join Aditya Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan in Switzerland. However, she turned it down.

In an interview with Radio Nasha, Farah recalled, “I didn’t have a phone at home at that time. My neighbour got a call. It was Shah Rukh and Adi (Aditya Chopra) on the phone. Shah Rukh asked me, ‘Farah, can you come to Switzerland tomorrow? Yash Raj Films will organise it. We need 2-3 songs that you have to do.’ And I swear I told him, ‘Sorry, I have dates with Nana Patekar (‘Yashwanth’, 1997). The next day, I am shooting with Nana Patekar and I can’t miss that shoot because I have a big film.”

Farah revealed that she got this call because Saroj Khan was late in reaching Switzerland. She said, “Then I didn’t do the other songs (of ‘DDLJ’). Then when they came back, Adi called me to meet him. He said, ‘I really admire you that you stuck to (your commitment). Not everybody does that. As soon as you get a big film, you leave (a smaller film).’ They had just one song left and they asked me to do it. It was ‘Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane’. So, I believe that if you have given your word and if you don’t live up to it, then nobody can trust you.”

Not just this, Farah had earlier revealed that she got her break in Bollywood when Saroj Khan did not come to choreograph the song ‘Pehla Nasha’ from ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’.
