American singer, songwriter and actor Justin Timberlake has been arrested for drink driving in New York, USA, reports Associated Press.

Timberlake will reportedly appear in court later in the day. NBC quoted a source as saying the singer was in police custody as of Tuesday morning.

Timberlake is currently on his global tour titled “Forget Tomorrow,” where he is promoting his latest album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” which was released in March.

Justin Timberlake is scheduled to perform two concerts each at Chicago’s United Center and New York’s Madison Square Garden next week. The North American leg of the tour will end in Kentucky on July 9, followed by shows in Europe later this month.

The young Timberlake was a Disney Mouseketeer, where his co-stars included future girlfriend Britney Spears. He rose to fame with the popular boy band NSYNC and began a solo recording career in 2002. As an actor, Timberlake has appeared in films such as The Social Network and Friends with Benefits.
