"It’s so bad": American Airlines pilot’s father killed in accident

The 28 -year -old pilot of the American Airlines Passenger Plane, who collided with the US Army’s Black Hawk Helicopter on Wednesday, was keen to marry his fiance this year, his father said. Sam Lily was the first officer at the American Airlines Flight 5342.

In an emotional Facebook post, Sam’s father, Timothy Lily said that when his son became a pilot, he felt proud, but “Now it hurts that I cannot even cry to sleep myself.”

“I know I will see him again, but my heart is breaking. He was getting concluded in his career and personal life,” he wrote.

Pilot Timothy, a former army helicopter, shared himself that Sam was engaged in getting married. “It is disastrous to lose someone,” he wrote.

At the time of the accident, Timothy was in New York for work. He described the moment when he realized that his son was flying when the accident took place as the worst day of his life. He realized an intestine when Sam, who always investigated, failed to do so.

Speaking to Fox News, Timothy, who worked as a helicopter pilot for 20 years, recalled to fly inside and outside the Pentagon during the 1990s. He explained, “If you are flying on the Potomac River at night at night at night, it is extremely difficult to spot an aircraft. Reports said that investigators have recovered black boxes from passenger aircraft as the rescue team has pulled the bodies from the Potomac River.
