Actress Taapsee Pannu revealed that she was brought into the Hindi film industry because of her looks from Preity Zinta. Taapsee, who appeared as a guest on cricketer Shikhar Dhawan’s debut talk show, said that since then, she has tried to maintain the image of the ‘Veer-Zaara’ actor.

Sharing more details about the show ‘Dhawan Karenge’, Taapsee revealed how she started getting roles in Telugu and Tamil while she was studying engineering. “Many people thought I was the new version of Preity Zinta. That was the reason I got offers in Bollywood… She has a very positive energy, and you know it better than me because you must have interacted with her more. I have only seen her on TV or the big screen”, she said.

“I think Preity Zinta falls in the category of someone who can be vivacious and intelligent. I felt I had to live up to the reputation that she brought me into the industry with… because of her name. So, I always made some efforts to be like her,” Taapsee said.

Taapsee started her acting career with the 2010 Telugu film ‘Jhummandi Naadam’ and the Hindi film ‘Chashme Badoor’. She gained attention after playing an undercover agent in Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Baby’. She also worked in other films like ‘Pink’, ‘Manmarziyaan’, ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, ‘Mission Mangal’ and ‘Thappad’.

She was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s film ‘Dunky’ in 2023 alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal.

Taapsee will soon be seen in ‘Khel Khel Mein’. Apart from Taapsee, this film directed by Mudassar Aziz stars great actors like Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Amy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal and Fardeen Khan in lead roles.

Talking about personal life, Taapsee recently married her longtime boyfriend Mathias Boe in Udaipur. It was a private ceremony which took place in March this year.
