Trump provides foreign aid to Pakistan, major projects hit: Report

According to a media report on Tuesday, the US has temporarily suspended foreign aid to Pakistan for revaluation following an executive order issued by President Donald Trump.

The move has immediately stopped several important United States Agency for International Development (USAID) projects for international development in Pakistan, including Cultural Protection (AFCP), which major programs to promote cultural heritage protection and conservation Is, Jio News told. ,

According to the US Embassy here, AFCP funds “helps protect craftsmanship and crafts worldwide” historical buildings, museum collections and traditional cultural manifestations “.

Quoting an anonymous officer at the US Consulate in Karachi, the report said that the US has stopped Pakistan’s foreign aid for revaluation as per the executive order issued by Trump.

The report said that this decision has resulted in five projects related to the energy sector.

They are the improvement activity in the power sector, Pakistan private sector energy activity, energy sector advisory service project, clean energy loan portfolio guarantee program and Pakistan Climate Financial Activity.

Four projects related to economic development have also been hits. Among them, social security activity was the only program ending in 2025.

The US move also killed many projects related to health, agriculture, livelihood and food security, floods, climate and education. Democracy, human rights and governance funds are also affected by Trump’s order.

According to Geo News, some of these programs will be reduced forever or at least.

However, the total value of the affected projects is not known, as it is not clear how much the US is currently assisting in Pakistan.

So far in Pakistan, the authorities have not confirmed the development and impact of Trump’s executive measures on the help of Pakistan.
