Sam Heughan got a chance to meet someone special, not Jennifer Lopez, but her mom Lupe! During his appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad & Confused podcast, the Outlander actor told the story as if he met a celebrity.
She revealed that the Atlas actress’ mother also gave her a gift during the taping of The Tonight Show. When host Horowitz asked if he had met anyone on the talk show, Heughan admitted to meeting that special someone. “Well, I met an amazing woman. J.Lo…wasn’t there,” he teased, as the crowd at the 92nd Street Y went from stunned to laughing at his witty quip.
“Lupe, J.Lo’s mom, who’s in the audience, I believe,” he revealed. Showing off the necklace on her, the Love Again actor thanked her for the “amazing” gift. “Thank you very much, Lupe,” he said, looking out into the crowd.
Heughan revealed that he met the singer-actress before he met her mother. This proved to be another wise one of his as he confessed that he had never met the Hustlers actress. He jokingly shielded his eyes from the stage lights to make sure the On the Floor singer was not in the middle of the crowd.
The actor appeared on The Tonight Show last week to discuss the Season 7 finale and tease the eighth and final season of Outlander. He revealed that the second half of the seventh season ends on a cliffhanger and called it one of his favorite finales of the show.
“Incredible Outlander moment, big drama and big cliffhanger,” he said, adding that people will be talking about it for a long time. As far as filming the final season goes, the actor admitted that the entire year was emotional.
He admitted that the show will leave a void in his life, but he is grateful for everything it has given him, including the cast and crew who have become his family.
