Trigger warning: The following article contains references to sexual assault.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is suing NewsNation parent company Nexstar Media Group and grand jury witness Courtney Burgess for US$50 million for defamation in New York federal court.

Diddy claims the defendants spread false statements that Burgess possessed explicit footage that allegedly shows Combs engaging in non-consensual sexual acts with celebrities as well as minors. Burgess claimed during the interview that he had incriminating footage.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Combs’ attorney Erica Wolfe said her client is “standing up against the malicious lies that have been fabricated and amplified by individuals seeking to profit at his expense.”

Wolf said the allegations were fabricated and malicious and that the defendants recklessly spread lies for personal gain. He said, “His lies have poisoned public perception and tainted the jury pool. This complaint should serve as a warning that such deliberate lies, which undermine Mr. Combs’ right to a fair trial, It will not be tolerated any longer.”

The lawsuit cites statements from Burgess, who said in interviews that Kim Porter, the late mother of Combs’ four children, sent her videos saying Combs was drunk attacking celebrities and minors .

Additionally, the lawsuit cites Mitchell’s unfounded claims regarding police reports that allegedly support sexual assault claims against him, which were ultimately dismissed by authorities.

Burgess’ attorney Ariel Mitchell also alleged that the tapes were being circulated in Hollywood. He further stated that apparently, a person had contacted them “to purchase an exclusive video that they had and to contact the person who was in the video to see if they would like the video to be made public.” Were interested in purchasing it before.”

Sean Diddy Combs wants the defendants held accountable for knowingly providing false information that has fueled speculation against him. The disgraced rapper claims this has tarnished his reputation as well as hindered his chances of receiving a fair trial.
