Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Bandra West home on January 16, leaving him with injuries to his hand, neck and spine. The Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), led by president Ashok Pandit, in an open letter released on Thursday condemned the attack, calling it “inhumane”.

The statement expressed outrage at the serious security lapse that allowed the attacker to reach the 12th floor apartment. “We do not know how the attacker reached the 12th floor of Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s flat, waited to attack and stabbed him, causing serious injuries,” the letter reads.

“His life was saved by timely treatment by surgeons and doctors at Lilavati Hospital,” the association said. He further said, “We, at IFTDA, condemn the deadly attack on Mr. Saif Ali Khan and pray to God for his speedy recovery.”

Saif Ali Khan was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where doctors worked quickly to stabilize his condition. IFTDA expressed gratitude to the medical team for the prompt and effective treatment, noting that Saif is now out of danger.

Kareena Kapoor issued a statement on Instagram on Thursday addressing the incident and subsequent media coverage.

In her statement, Kareena described that day as “incredibly challenging” for her family and requested privacy during this difficult period. He expressed gratitude for the concern and support but stressed that the constant investigation poses a security risk and is burdensome to his family.
