Brody Jenner left no filter behind as he revisited the complicated relationship he shares with his father, Caitlyn Jenner. Brody talked about the same on the January 15 episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, per Inquistor.
Reflecting on a seemingly distant relationship while growing up, Brody shared, “I saw her all of a sudden — ‘her’ at the time — you know, here and there,” adding further, “But, Mom. She used to tell me that I would do this and write on the cards, ‘Why doesn’t dad call me on my birthday?’
He also mentioned being a father himself, welcoming his daughter Honey with his fiancée Tiara ‘Tia’ in 2023. Brody said he believed that without Caitlin (whom he called by her previous name, Bruce) growing up and his transformation, it would have been difficult to become his son.
He talked about having a daughter and said that he is no longer living for himself but for her. Brody reportedly told his other castmates that it would make him a “better” father. The reality show star further explained that as far as being there for his daughter, like her father did for him, he was going to do the exact opposite.
Reminiscing about her childhood, she shared about having an amazing mother, but as far as her father is concerned, The Hills star said that he was not around much at the time. Brody said his parents separated and his father met a woman and had children.
Caitlyn starred on Keeping Up with the Kardashians alongside her then-wife Kris Jenner. The show starred her children Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as well as Kris’ ex-husband Robert Kardashian’s children – Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob.
According to the report, Brody was also questioned in the episode about his feelings on the family’s former reality show. He shared truthfully, he felt “a little abandoned.”
The Hills alumnus said, “I would say he was going through his own struggles, making changes, and it was everything that was shown on TV, and there were moments that we filmed, and it Felt very aggressive and I would say not very realistic.”
According to the outlet, Brody revealed on the show that he recently received a true and “sincere apology” to Caitlyn. He shared that it was the first time in his life that he had received an apology, further adding that it meant a lot to him.
In a confessional episode of the show, she said that she was relieved when she found out that her father wanted to be Caitlin. According to Brody, this started to make sense in his life, about his father, and perhaps that’s why he was not there for so many years.
Brody further said that he believes that when someone has children, they “need to accept a little bit of responsibility that the things you do impact them, too.” I think it’s really shaped me to put everything aside and really be there and be present with my little girl.”
