The new year was kicked off by the release of the Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0 stable update for the Nothing Phone (2A) Plus, which is now rolling out to two more Nothing smartphones – the Nothing Phone (1) and the CMF Phone 1.

  • Choose from a range of new clock face styles.
  • Expanded widget space, letting you place more widgets on your lock screen.

  • Added AI-powered Smart Drawer to automatically classify your apps into folders, keeping your app drawer organized and making it easier to find apps.
  • You can now pin your favorite apps to the top of the app drawer for quick access to your favorite apps.

Advanced pop-up view

  • Drag the pop-up view to any position on the screen for convenient multitasking.
  • Easily resize the pop-up view by dragging the bottom corners.
  • For quick access, pin the pop-up view to the screen edge.
  • Swipe down on incoming notifications to enter the pop-up view. Allows you to quickly view information without leaving your current app. Enable via Settings > Special features > Pop-up view.

  • Redesigned quick settings and an optimized editing experience. Allows you to easily customize your shortcuts to your preferences.
  • Redesigned widget library. Choose your favorite Nothing widget or swipe left to browse third-party widgets.
  • Enhanced settings with updated UI visuals. The Network & Internet and Bluetooth options now display the current connection.
  • New dot animation for fingerprint unlocking and charging.

  • Allow AI to learn your usage habits and prioritize your frequently used apps. Intelligently keeps them active for longer periods of time for a smoother and more efficient experience.
  • Added support for auto-archive function. Automatically frees up storage space without deleting apps or data from your device.
  • New Partial Screen Sharing, so you can record just an app window instead of the entire screen.
  • Setup wizard updated to version 3.0 for better familiarity.
  • Predictive back animations are enabled for apps that have opted in.
  • The lock screen charging status display has been improved to help you easily know the charging speed at a glance (only for CMF Phone 1).

Nothing says that the shared widgets feature is in beta and is currently only supported between Nothing devices. Additionally, during the upgrade, the system will be optimized in the background to enhance the user experience, which may temporarily cause device overheating and increased power consumption.
