Ajay Devgan’s film Azaad, which marks the acting debut of his nephew Amaan Devgan and Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani, holds special significance for him. At the trailer launch, Ajay told that Amaan is not like his son as he treats him like his own son.
At the trailer launch of Azaad, Ajay Devgan talked about the personal significance of the film. He shared that it is special for two reasons and said, “First, 2 new kids are being launched in this film. Both are very talented. (First because two new actors are being launched in it. Both are very talented).
He further added, “One who is my colleague and my friend’s daughter (Rasha Thadani). And Aman, who is not like my son, but is my son.” (One is my colleague and friend’s daughter, and the other, Amaan, who is not like my son, is my son).
Ajay also praised Azaad director Abhishek Kapoor for his remarkable ability to launch new stars and described him as patient and nurturing. He highlighted that Kapoor not only ‘tolerates’ new talent but also helps them grow.
The actor further praised the debut performances of Aman Devgan and Rasha Thadani, noting that they have done an excellent job in the film.
Azad, meanwhile, set before India’s independence, follows Ajay Devgan as a skilled horseman escaping British oppression. Aman Devgan’s character helps him in his quest to get back his lost horse.
Rasha Thadani plays a royal family member, while Diana Penty plays Ajay’s love interest. This film is scheduled to release on 17 January 2025.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor, Azaad blends intense action with emotional depth. It explores love, loyalty and courage against the backdrop of conflict.
