Thalapathy Vijay starrer The Greatest of All Time won the title of highest-grossing Kollywood film globally this year. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film grossed approximately Rs 456 crore worldwide and emerged as a successful venture at the box office.
The second place goes to Amaran, a war biopic drama starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. Its hair-raising story not only made a splash at the box office but also made the audience cry. The film collected Rs 335 crore worldwide, establishing Sivakarthikeyan as a bankable star in Tamil cinema.
Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyaan received mixed reviews, leading to low business. However, the film managed to secure the third position among the highest-grossing films of Tamil cinema this year. It collected Rs 240 crore worldwide. Vijay Sethupathi and Anurag Kashyap starrer Maharaja is at the fourth position with the global box office collections which are expected to be around Rs 190 crore including China collections.
