Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma has worked with some of the biggest stars of Bollywood, including Sunny Deol, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar and many more. Recently, he shared an amusing conversation with Dharmendra while they were working together when the actor revealed that his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol had no affairs with heroines. At the same time, he received massive female attention from co-actresses during his time there.
In a new interview with Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube channel, Anil Sharma recalled the time shooting for his 2007 film ‘Apne’, which starred Dharmendra and his son in the lead roles. He recalled one particular incident that showcased Dharmendra’s humor when the veteran actor mentioned that his son was innocent when it came to dating actresses.
Sharma recalled that Dharmendra, known for his charismatic and vivacious personality, started teasing his sons in his vanity van during the shoot. He did this by sharing with Anil that his son was very innocent unlike him who was surrounded by heroines.
He shared, “Dharam ji said, ‘My boys are very simple. His friend, he never has an affair with some heroines.’ After this he jokingly said, ‘Mujhe dekho, mere time par sabhi heroines peech aati thi (Look at me, in my time all the heroines were behind me)’.
Sharma laughed at the incident and admitted that Sunny and Bobby were embarrassed by their father’s confession. As a result, they quickly left the room. This reaction further surprised the Sholay actor, who said that his son is not simple enough for the film industry. After this he quipped that even though he was innocent, he still created a light-hearted atmosphere on the set.
The filmmaker acknowledged Dharmendra’s magnetic charm and mentioned that many actresses of his era were keen to work with him. However, he pointed out that his sons are more shy and simple. Although the Animal actor has a more starry-eyed demeanor, he still gives priority to his family values.
Anil Sharma, who has worked with all three Deols, said that they are all a close-knit family which captivates the audience. He also revealed that he is keen to make his 2 with the Deols and hinted at working on Gadar 3 with Sunny Deol.
