Tabla player Zakir Hussain passed away at the age of 73 due to chronic lung disease. He was buried in San Francisco on Thursday.

Hussain, son of renowned tabla player Allah Rakha, revolutionized the instrument and took it beyond the boundaries of classical music into other forms including jazz and western classical.
