Varun Dhawan, who is busy promoting his upcoming film Baby John, has often been seen dancing to the tune of his popular song Nain Matka from the film. Recently, the actor talked about the huge success of the song and revealed that the film’s producer Atlee intended to bring in Diljit Dosanjh for the song as he did not expect such success.
Varun Dhawan recently sat down for an interview with Pinkvilla and the team of his upcoming film Baby John. During the conversation he told that filmmaker Atlee, who had produced Baby John, had made it clear from the beginning that he wanted Diljit Dosanjh to sing a song in the film. He also shared that the young director admires the Punjabi singer a lot.
He said, “Atlee sir was very clear from day one. He told me, ‘We need Diljit Dosanjh to sing this song,’ he made it happen.” He praised Attlee’s creative vision and said he wanted to see him take advantage of that opportunity.

Initially, the Bhediya actor admitted that he did not expect Nain Matka to reach its current level of popularity. “At that time, I couldn’t see it. I thought, okay, Thaman sir is scoring the music, and we all know that Diljit’s songs have a vibrancy. But this has gone to a whole other level. Production And with everything coming together, it became another kind of vibe, and now it’s going really well and has become a big hit.”
This song is making people dance due to its catchy lyrics and beats. Dhawan shared that Diljit was also impressed when he heard the track for the first time. “When we played the song to Diljit paaji, his reaction said it all. Any musician will instantly recognize the magic in it.”
On the other hand, the producer shared his perspective and revealed that he strongly believes that Diljit Dosanjh’s song can become the favorite song of the album. He felt that a Punjabi singer could do full justice to the song, which was true.
Similarly, Atlee expressed his gratitude to Varun for bringing Dosanjh on board. Meanwhile, Varun, known for his quick wit and humour, highlighted that he once thought that the makers first brought in Salman for a cameo and then the Naina singer, so he too had to prepare himself And had to work hard.
Baby John, directed by Kellis, featured Wamiqa Gabbi, Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Rajpal Yadav in important roles. The film is all set to release on 25 December 2024.
