After Mushtaq Khan, Shakti Kapoor targeted by gang kidnapping celebs on the pretext of inviting them to events: Report

Recently, popular comedian Sunil Pal and senior Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan had claimed that they had been kidnapped. The Gadar 2 actor shared his ordeal with the police and also reported the incident. Immediately after this the police started investigating the case. It was revealed when the gang that kidnapped Khan was also planning to kidnap veteran actor Shakti Kapoor on the pretext of inviting him to an event.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the police began investigation and Sunil Pal and Mushtaq Khan were reported to have been abducted from Delhi, where they had been invited to attend an event. During investigation, it was revealed that the miscreants were also planning to kidnap actor Shakti Kapoor. However, he later canceled this plan.

Sharing his side of the story, Khan said that he was already provided with a flight ticket and some money to attend an event. However, when he landed in New Delhi, he was taken to an undisclosed location. The same thing was being hatched against Shraddha Kapoor’s father, who was offered Rs. Rs 5 lakh to attend a similar event. But the deal fell through due to the high advance amount requested. Currently the team is investigating whether the gang was involved in the kidnapping of other actors.

Coming back to Khan’s case, Bijnor Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Jha told PTI that Mushtaq Khan was threatened and kidnapped and held captive at the house of Lavi, a criminal involved in the case. His bank account details and password were also taken by the gang members.

But when the kidnappers got drunk and fell asleep, Khan escaped and with the help of some locals, he contacted his family and returned safely to Mumbai. According to reports, the senior artist was kidnapped from the Delhi-Meerut highway and tortured for 12 hours.

The officer was quoted as saying, “On November 21, the kidnappers took out the money. “During shopping in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar, Rs 2.2 lakh was withdrawn from Mushtaq Khan’s bank account.” Apart from this, some members of the gang have been arrested and the police have also recovered money. Rs 1.04 lakh from him.
