Guru Randhawa on Monday shared a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter), addressing the ongoing ‘Punjab vs Punjab’ controversy involving Diljit Dosanjh. As Dosanjh faced opposition, Randhawa was seen supporting the nation and calling for unity.

In his first post he simply wrote “Punjab” without any explanation.

Later, he urged everyone to unite for the country, saying, “Let’s unite and support our country. My soil, my country is the best country in the world. Period.”

This comes just hours after Diljit Dosanjh faced criticism for writing “Punjab” before his Chandigarh showMany social media users noted that the spelling used is commonly associated with the Pakistani side of the region. Fans also noticed that Diljit did not include the Indian Tricolor emoji in this post, unlike his other concert-related tweets.

The matter escalated rapidly and some people accused him of political intentions. In response, Diljit shared a detailed note on X (formerly Twitter) to clarify his position and refute the claims. He wrote, “Punjab, if there is mention of Indian flag along with Punjab in any tweet then it is a conspiracy. There was also a space left in Bengaluru’s tweet to mention that if Punjab is written as Punjab then it is a conspiracy. You may write Punjab as Punjab, it will always remain Punjab. (If I forget to mention the flag of India with Punjab in a tweet, you are a conspiracy. I also forgot to mention it in a tweet from Bengaluru. If I write Punjab as Punjab, then you are a conspiracy. Punjab is It will remain Punjab, even if you write it as Punjab).”

Diljit is nearing the end of his Dil-Luminati India tour with a performance in Mumbai on December 19. The tour will conclude with a grand concert in Guwahati on 29 December.

Meanwhile, Guru Randhawa has also promised with a post on X that he will take Indian music to the global stage in 2025.
