If you are from Delhi, you would know that its charm lies in everything – from food to monuments. The city is filled with great drink and food options for every mood and occasion. And now, there’s a new cocktail menu in town to capture its essence. Cirrus 9 at The Oberoi, in collaboration with renowned Italian mixologist Giancarlo Mancino, has released its signature Skyline Cocktail Menu to celebrate the city’s landmarks and vibrant culture through artisan drinks.
What a chef is to the kitchen, a mixologist is to the bar. Although striking a beautiful balance between delicious flavors and strong spirits is an art, Mancino proved why he is considered a master. Each cocktail on the menu is a love letter to Delhi, beautifully blending history, art and innovation.
We started our cocktail journey with a wonderful cocktail called Heritage Greens, a sample of the beautiful nursery. With its tropical, complex and vibrant flavours, it was a refreshing take on Delhi’s lush heritage and iconic gardens.
Next, we got a taste of Haat Heaven, inspired by the vibrant and eclectic spirit of Dilli Haat. It was sweet, nutty and flavourful – the perfect cocktail to reflect the playfulness and bustling atmosphere of Dilli Haat. To capture the essence of Delhi’s famous Purana Qila, we enjoyed The Qila Legacy, which introduced earthy, floral and tingly notes. This cocktail is a perfect tribute to the rich history and timeless beauty of the monument.
If you like the grandeur of Bharat Mandapam, then Mandapam Marvel will be a delight to your taste. With its herbaceous, aromatic and incredibly refreshing ingredients, Mandapam Marvel left us intrigued with every sip.
The timeless sophistication of Lutyens’ Delhi is captured by their offering – Lutyens Elegance. It has delicate, sweet-salty and bitter notes that offer a perfect blend of modernity and vintage charm.
As we moved on with our exotic cocktails, next on the list was the Connaught Classic – a fruity, vibrant and herbaceous cocktail that captures the charm of Delhi’s Connaught Place.
Not only this, the menu also ensured that golf lovers are entertained. The 18th hole presents us with bitter-sweet, fruity richness. While Altitude 124 offered smooth tropical and citrus notes, an homage to the Cirrus 9’s Altitude.
We ended our night with Astral Harmony. Although it may sound like a sweet cocktail, it actually has a peppery, smoky and acidic profile that is synonymous with the harmony and grandeur of Jantar Mantar.
Overall, the experience was fantastic. All the cocktails – which were paired with several finger foods and cheese plates – were not just about spirits but an immersive experience into the soul of Delhi!
