We all make mistakes when cooking, right? Sometimes, we may add extra salt to a dish, and sometimes, we forget to add it. Then, there are also instances when we add the wrong masala, thinking it is correct. Another common mistake that many of us make is adding extra oil to our vegetables. We think we’re adding a little volume, but it turns out to be too much! And then it’s too late to fix the problem. Were you also in a similar situation and suddenly panicked? Well, next time you won’t panic. A video recently going viral on the internet provides a quick solution that will help in removing the oil easily.
Digital creator Deepti Kapoor has shared a video on Instagram showing how you can remove excess oil from your vegetable. What does she suggest? This is simple. All you have to do is place a bowl in the middle of the pan while the vegetable is almost cooked. Cover the pan with a lid and let the bowl sit for about 10 minutes. Once you remove the lid and lift the bowl, you will see that all the excess oil has collected in the middle of the pan. Now, remove the vegetable to the side and enjoy it completely guilt-free.

One user said, “Excellent tip, your hacks are very original and very useful madam.” Another wrote, “Wow, this is one of the best hacks.” A third person suggested, “Another hack is… make sabzi with less oil.” “If it’s a gravy based vegetable, will this same hack work?” questioned a fourth user. Someone said, “Looks great, will definitely try next time.” A sixth person wrote, ‘Very important, thank you.’

This isn’t the only food hack that has gone viral before. Last month, a hack showed how you can prevent mushrooms from turning brown and soggy. The video shared on Instagram shows that a woman first dries the mushrooms in a pan, then adds oil and other ingredients. She waits until the end to add salt, as it draws out the moisture.
