The Rugged Mini is not like your regular smartphone Mini. For one, they’re not really small. This is the Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro and it’s just 133.5mm long and 63.3mm wide, but at 24.9mm thickness it’s almost three times thicker than your typical smartphone these days.
But if you’re reading this, chances are you’re not interested in regular phones. And Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro has its own place.
It has its own special place. This is a thoroughly rugged phone – drop-tested on concrete up to 2 metres, IP68 and IP69K certified, and compliant with MIL-STD-810H rating, and can operate at -20 degrees Celsius. But it’s also much smaller than its robust competition, with a 4.7-inch 720p display covered by Gorilla Glass on the Victus. Nevertheless, it still has the big battery we’ve come to expect from rugged phones – 6,200mAh. And yes, it also has a thermal camera.
What’s more – there are some LEDs on the back, but we will be able to access them immediately after unboxing.
Ulefone ships the Armor Mini 20T Pro with a 33W USB-C charger, a USB-C cable, a lanyard, and a tempered glass protector (the phone already has a plastic one). There is no case in the box, but you don’t really need one. There’s an optional case clip that lets you wear the Armor Mini 20T Pro as a body camera.
The FLIR thermal camera features the highest resolution in technology at 160×120, a wide 57° horizontal field of view and a measurable range of -10° to 450°C.
Of course there’s a Flir camera on board!
The rear camera has a 50MP 1/1.31″ imager with an f/2.0 aperture. There’s a dual LED flash below for your regular flash needs, but there’s also an impressive LED polygon around the camera island that’s much more powerful.
It has a few power modes with one going full-on super bright. This may be unavoidable in the dark.
And it doesn’t stop here. There are two additional diodes mounted between the polygonal LEDs – a blue and red that can act as a warning light, blinking like a police car, or constantly on.
The Armor Mini 20T Pro is the most fun phone to have in the dark!
