Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu reveals she had ‘big drops of tears’ over actress’ first film contract: ‘She wanted to be…’

Priyanka Chopra ventured into acting after winning the Miss World contest in 2000. The actress’s mother Madhu Chopra recently revealed that she did not want to sign films and instead wanted to study to become a criminal psychologist or aeronautical engineer. He shared that the first film contract PC signed had ‘big drops of tears’.

While talking to Rodrigo Canales on the podcast Something Bigger Show, Madhu Chopra revealed that after winning Miss World, Priyanka Chopra received many film offers. However, he shared that his daughter did not want to do so and instead wanted to go back to her studies.

The doctor said that Priyanka was a very intelligent girl and her goal was different. “She had science majors, she wanted to be a criminal psychologist slash aeronautical engineer,” he said. Chopra said that her daughter had made all these plans for herself but destiny had something else in mind.

Recalling the time when Priyanka signed her first film, her mother said, “She wanted to go back to studies. So, the first film he signed, Contract, there were big drops of tears on that contract.”

During the same conversation, Madhu Chopra revealed that she had told Priyanka to try it for a few months during the summer and if she didn’t like it then she could return what she wanted.

Chopra shared that she told her daughter to take advantage of the opportunity because studies will not go anywhere. He added, “When he did it, he loved it. But she went back to college, and then more offers came, and then that’s history.”

Madhu Chopra also revealed how her and Priyanka’s relationship grew when they traveled together for shoots. She mentioned that she could take care of his daughter and they also became closer.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is currently in London where she has been shooting for the second season of her series Citadel for the last few months. She is also accompanied by her husband Nick Jonas and their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The trio celebrated Thanksgiving together on November 8, 2024.
