At the Pushpa 2: The Rule Mumbai event, actor Allu Arjun talks about his historic National Film Award win and his journey with the Pushpa franchise. The actor, best known for playing Pushpa Raj, shared how meaningful the recognition was to both him and the Telugu film industry.

Speaking about his National Award win, Arjun said, “It is an immense honor for me, and I can tell this to everyone. While working on Pushpa: The Rise, I requested my director Sukumar to give Pushpa the Best Actor award. I had won it before, but I wanted to raise the bar and go for the national award.”

Allu Arjun’s vision was to deliver a performance that audiences and critics alike would deem worthy of this prestigious award. His determination paid off and he became the first Telugu actor in 69 years to win the National Award for Best Actor. Reflecting on this achievement he said, “It is very special because till now no Telugu actor had won a National Award. I was the first, and that makes it even more meaningful.

In a candid moment during his appearance in Unstoppable with Nandamuri Balakrishna, the actor revealed his meticulous approach with director Sukumar during the shoot. “Director Sukumar and I would evaluate every shot, asking ourselves, ‘Is this worthy of a National Award, or should we try again?’” he shared. Allu Arjun credited his win to the Telugu film industry, saying, “I am saddened to see that no Telugu actor had won a National Award before. That’s when I decided that I would do it.”

As the promotional tour of Pushpa 2: The Rule continues, excitement is rising across the country. Fans have been treated to a glimpse of its most awaited track, Kissik and Peelings. After events in Patna, Chennai, Kochi and Mumbai, the team is now preparing for Bengaluru and Hyderabad. This film is going to be released on 5th December.
