Abhishek Bachchan’s filmography started on a good note with Refugee becoming a classic over the years. While he has been a part of many hit films in the last decades, there was a time when none of his films were doing well. During this weak moment, he went to his father Amitabh Bachchan and told him that he was not meant to be an actor.

Talking to Galata Plus about his personal and professional life, Abhishek Bachchan talked about the difficult phase of his acting career when many of his films were not doing well. He further added, “Critics were critical of my performance no matter who I worked with.” He even worked with the best filmmakers in the industry in the hope that they would teach him things and help him improve the things he hasn’t managed to do.

But nothing was working in his favor. “In a vulnerable moment, which is embarrassing for me to think about now, I went to my father and said, ‘We need to talk. I think I made a huge mistake,'” Junior Bachchan said. Told his father that he was not meant to be an actor because whatever he did was not working.

By that time, he had tried all types of cinema, genres and filmmakers, but sadly he was not able to do so. “Maybe it’s time for me to be honest with myself and say, ‘Hey, you’re not cut out for this. You’re not good enough. Find something else to do,'” Abhishek explained.

But with his father being a superstar, Big B gave him a piece of advice that stuck with him over the years. The Piku actor told his son, “I am telling you this as your senior, not as your father. You’re nowhere near the finished product. You have to improve a lot” He further said that he is also looking for improvement in every film of his.

Senior Bachchan boosted his child’s morale and told him that there is a good actor hidden within him and how good he becomes depends on him and how hard he wants to work. “The only way to hone your art is to work. So go there, whatever film you get, just sign and work,” Amitabh Bachchan told Abhishek.

The Ghoomar actor did exactly that. He didn’t care what kind of role he was offered; He did everything until he had confidence in himself. Ultimately, he was successful in performing at the box office and people started trusting him and seeing him as the leading man again.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Abhishek was last seen in I Want to Talk and is busy shooting for Housefull 5.
