Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan, who is currently enjoying the success of his latest film Amaran, recently opened up about a challenging phase in his life. During his appearance at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, he revealed that he ‘almost’ fell into depression after his father’s death in 2017. He also shared how he overcame this difficult phase.

Reflecting on the difficult personal experience on the programme, Sivakarthikeyan shared, “After my father passed away, I almost fell into depression. But work saved me. The applause and enthusiasm of my audience became my therapy.” According to the report of news18She expressed her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support and acknowledged them as pillars of strength that helped her deal with this challenging phase.

During the event, Sivakarthikeyan thanked his friends for their instrumental role in furthering his career from college stage performances to film acting. He said, “My first stage performance was in college when I was doing my engineering. My friends pushed me on stage and said, ‘Do whatever you feel like, the audience should enjoy.’

Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran is currently running successfully in theatres. The film, starring Sai Pallavi, grossed over Rs 300 crore at the global box office. It is based on the life of Indian Army officer and Ashoka Chakra recipient Major Mukund Varadarajan.
