Actor Suriya and director Siva’s recently released film has completed one week in theatres. In India, the fantasy action drama grossed around Rs 62 crore at the end of seven days. However, the film’s theatrical performance has been of great concern to the producers. While Kanguva had a good opening weekend, it saw a decline in its numbers on weekdays.

Kanguva was released in theaters on 14 November amid huge anticipation. However, due to mixed reviews and word-of-mouth, the film suffered a loss on weeknights. It remains to be seen whether the film is able to gain momentum in theaters during its second weekend or not.

On the seventh day, the Siva directed film earned Rs 2.40 crore in India, slightly less than the sixth day’s earnings. On weekdays, Kanguva is earning around Rs 2-3 crore every day, which is disappointing considering its huge budget.

The seven-day total collection of Kanguva has now stood at Rs 62.40 crore in India. On 21 November, the film recorded an occupancy of 13.72 percent.

Kangwa is a fantasy action drama based in two different timelines. Suriya is seen in two roles in the film – Theodore Francis and Kanguva. Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Karunas, Natarajan Subramaniam, Vasundhara and many more are part of the cast.

Actor Karthi played a special cameo in Kanguva. The film ends with the beginning of the second part of the film, which is yet to be shot.
