Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi entered the electric automobile business last year. Xioami SU7 is the company’s first electric car which was launched in December 2024. After looking at the sales count, Lei said Xiaomi will challenge the new target of 130,000 units delivered for the entire year 2024. The new target is another increase from the previous revised target of 120,000 units. Although Xiaomi has not disclosed detailed monthly delivery figures recently, it has reported deliveries of more than 10,000 units per month between July and September, surpassing 20,000 units in October. According to local media outlet 36kr, production is estimated to reach 24,000 units per month in November and December.
The SU7 is manufactured at Xiaomi EV’s Beijing facility, which has an annual production capacity of 150,000 units in the first phase, with the second phase under construction. In October, the plant achieved a capacity utilization rate of 160 percent, delivering over 20,000 units despite a design capacity of 12,500 units per month. To meet growing demand, Xiaomi is targeting a 24,000-unit monthly output, potentially increasing capacity utilization by close to 200 percent, reflecting the company’s efforts to ease delivery pressure.
