Srinidhi Shetty rose to fame with her performance in the Yash starrer KGF Chapter 1 in 2018, followed by its sequel KGF Chapter 2 in 2022. However, despite being a reputed model, her first foray into acting with the Prashanth Neel directed film was not on a large scale. , because he only had five minutes of screen time in the first part. In one of her old interviews with OTT Play, the actress had commented on the same.
Talking about the minimal attention she received during the trailer launch event of KGF 2, Srinidhi Shetty mentioned how due to her fleeting appearance in the first installment, people thought that the same would happen in the second part.
She further added, “As far as KGF is concerned, I knew the arc of my character – start, middle and end. When the team started shooting, they realized that the scale of the film was so big that they had to make it Had to be divided into two parts.” And in doing so, my character had nothing to do in Part 1. It was all about the introduction of the hero and other characters. Ultimately, my character Reena barely got five minutes, but Prashant assured me that I had nothing to worry about.”
Moving forward, she relied on the assurance of Prashanth Neel, who confirmed that she would have a better and important role in KGF 2, and hence she was ready to wait for her turn.
However, the wait turned out to be too long for almost three years, as KGF 2 was pushed back during the outbreak of the Covid pandemic. Then Srinidhi became disappointed and said that even her family did not know whether she would get work or not.
Srinidhi said, “However, the wait was a good three years and it can be a bit disappointing, especially because in between there was a pandemic over which we had no control. Even in my family there were questions about how long I would keep just one project, KGF, to myself. Why wasn’t I doing something else?”
Nonetheless, she mentioned holding on to her faith and working hard for the project for over six years even though she could have been doing multiple projects at the same time.
On the work front, Srinidhi Shetty has many exciting projects in her kitty, including Telusu Kaada, Hit: The Third Case and Kiccha 47.
