Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning film Interstellar is set to be released again in theaters on its 10th anniversary. While news of a re-release of the hit film has been making headlines for some time, IMAX announced on Thursday, November 7 that to mark 10 years of the film since it first appeared in theaters, this special Award winning film for a week.
The film will be screened in select states including New York, Texas, California, Arizona, Florida and Indianapolis. Interstellar is based on science fiction and tells the story of an ex-NASA pilot who is asked to visit space and discover another planet where humans can survive.
According to the film’s official synopsis, “In a future when Earth is no longer habitable, Joseph Cooper, a farmer and former NASA pilot, along with a team of researchers, sets out on a spacecraft to find a new planet for humans. Is entrusted with the task of running.”
As for the cast members, the film includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, John Lithgow, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Timothée Chalamet, Ellen Burstyn, Bill Irwin, Wes Bentley, David Oyelowo, and Casey Affleck.

At the time of release, the film was declared a blockbuster, earning $730 million at the box office. The film was nominated for five categories at the Academy Awards and received the Best Visual Effects trophy.
In addition to Interstellar, director Christopher Nolan has worked closely with IMAX on The Dark Knight, which also includes his collaboration with Warner Bros. Studios.
Meanwhile, the ace filmmaker will once again be collaborating with IMAX for his upcoming film. Although the title has not been revealed yet, media reports suggest that Nolan will incorporate never before used technology to make the film a cinematic marvel.
Furthermore, the film will star Matt Damon in the lead role and will be released in theaters in July 2026.
