In season four of Hulu’s only Murders in the Building, Charles, Oliver and Mabel find themselves solving the murder of Saez Pataki, adding another layer of intrigue to the seemingly endless mysteries of their building. Along with this, there are many questions regarding the next season of the series. Here’s everything we know about Only Murders in the Building season 5.
Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building has been renewed for a fifth season following the climactic season four finale, which tackled the mystery of Saige Pataki’s murder. As Season 5 begins, Charles, Oliver and Mabel will once again be drawn into a new investigation when they discover the dead body of Arconia’s longtime concierge Lester in the building’s courtyard fountain. This shocking development suggests a deeper mystery tied to Lester’s past, adding a new layer to the series’ signature blend of mystery and humor.
Season 5 is expected to explore Lester’s life in more depth, especially through flashbacks. The show’s producers indicated that fans would get a better understanding of their connections and history in Arkonia. The investigation will also involve Sofia Casimilio, played by Tia Leoni, a new character introduced at the end of season four. Sophia approaches the trio with a case involving her missing husband, Nicky ‘The Neck’ Casimelio, known as the Dry Cleaning King of Brooklyn, who may have deep connections to the building and possibly Lester.
Only Murders in the Building season 5 will retain its New York focus in terms of both classic and modern settings, and aims to explore the dynamics developing within the city. Series co-creator, John Hoffman, has stated that season five will reflect current and historical elements of New York, hinting that some aspects of the real world may inspire the plot. The creators have shared that they wanted to examine the complexities of city life and mystery while respecting the unique atmosphere of New York.
