Singer Sharda Sinha on ventilator: PM Modi assures help for treatment
Singer Sharda Sinha is undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, at AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi. His son said that Prime Minister Modi reached out to his family and assured them of assistance for his treatment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently contacted the family of famous folk singer Sharda Sinha to inquire about her health and offer necessary support for her ongoing treatment. The renowned artiste, who is known for his poignant folk performances during the Chhath festival, is seriously ill and is currently being treated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
His son, Anshuman Sinha, has been giving fans updates about his health through social media. Speaking to ANI, Anshuman confirmed that PM Modi has personally assured him of all necessary assistance for his mother’s treatment. The deteriorating health of the folk singer has created widespread concern among her fans and well-wishers.
72-year-old Sharda Sinha has been fighting multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, since 2018. His condition deteriorated on Monday, due to which he had to be put on ventilator. According to an official statement from AIIMS, the singer is “hemodynamically stable but under constant observation.”
Sharda Sinha, also known as Bihar Kokila, is an acclaimed Indian folk singer, known for her contributions to Bhojpuri, Maithili and Magahi music. He has played an important role in popularizing the traditional music of Bihar. Some of his most famous songs include ‘Kahe toh se sajna’ and ‘Pehle pehl hum aane’. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2018 for his contribution to Indian music and culture.
