Shoojit Sircar is one of the most critically acclaimed directors in the industry who is known for making authentic films with a touch of realism. Recently, the filmmaker revealed that he knows Shahrukh from his theater days and had met several times during that time. Furthermore, he also recalled that during his theater days, Kimag Khan used to meet his wife Gauri Khan at a nearby café.
In a candid interview with Unfiltered by Samdish, Shoojit Sircar was asked about his thoughts on Shahrukh Khan. In his reply, the October director mentioned that he knew Shahrukh Khan since they were in the theater group.
He recalled, “I know Shahrukh from the theater group, he was in the Barry John group, I was there, I didn’t play with him, I was there with him.”
The government said that there is a Depaul Café in Delhi’s Connaught Place where the superstar used to go to meet his wife Gauri Khan. As a result, the filmmaker met him there. However, he revealed that he did not see Shahrukh Khan working in plays and the actor left to be a part of the TV show Fauji after he did a play with director Barry John.
Shoojit has never worked with Shahrukh, although there were reports a few years ago that they might partner up for a project, but the director, in a conversation with IANS, denied the news and said that he has no idea about it. There is no information.
Shoojit Sircar made his directorial debut in 2005 with the romantic war drama ‘Yahan’ starring Jimmy Shergill and Minissha Lamba. Since then he has made successful films like Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, Piku, Pink, October which are more realistic and often raise a social issue. He is next making ‘I Want to Talk’ starring Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role.
