The makers of Zeenat Aman’s upcoming series ‘Showstopper’ have filed a police complaint against actress Digangana Suryavanshi accusing her of cheating and criminal breach of trust. Suryavanshi is accused of falsely claiming to have secured Akshay Kumar as a presenter for a project and demanding a whopping sum of Rs 75 lakh and a Mercedes car.

MH Films has filed a police complaint against Digangana under Section 420 and Section 406 of the IPC. Apart from this, MH Films has issued a defamation notice to actor Rakesh Bedi and fashion designer Krishan Parmar of Sooryavanshi. They are accused of making false public statements about the OTT platform’s unwillingness to cooperate, which allegedly damaged the reputation of the project. They also allegedly misled the media by saying that the project has been put on hold and payments have been stopped.

Advocate Falguni Brahmbhatt, representing MH Films and director Manish Harishankar, has confirmed these developments. She also mentioned that Digangana allegedly attempted to extort a huge amount in cash, and threatened Harishankar with dire consequences if her demands were not met. This threat has been reported to the police, who have been requested to take action based on the complaint.

The complaint also reveals that Digangana allegedly told Manish Harishankar that she had spoken to the superstar and that two members of her office were interested in watching the show. Following this, two persons came to her office and told her that Akshay Kumar wanted to watch the show. At that time, Akshay was shooting in Ajmer, so Harishankar arranged for Digangana and her editor to go to Ajmer with all the episodes on an iPad. The editor met Akshay briefly in Ajmer, but Digangana took the footage and went alone to show it to the superstar. Reportedly, she did not return the iPad and claimed that Akshay had demanded the full and final payment of Rs 6 crore in advance if Harishankar wanted to use his name as the presenter.

When she was asked to meet Akshay or at least talk to him on the phone, she started making excuses, which led to this matter coming to light.
