Dimple Kapadia became famous in every household with her first film Bobby. But she returned to the big screen after more than a decade. Nevertheless, she managed to make the audience crazy about her acting skills and charm. After ruling the Indian film industry and winning several awards including the National Film Award, she starred in the American film Tenet. In a recent interview, the actress recalled that director Christopher Nolan requested that she leave her earrings behind after filming her scene.
Going back in time, Dimple Kapadia revealed that she went for a fitting and immediately took out her earrings and wore them. Christopher Nolan turned to him and said, ‘Oh, they’re so cute.’ You can leave them behind after your shooting. The veteran Indian star accepted her request and left her jewelery with her. Speaking to Vogue India, the English Medium actress also praised Jeffrey Kurland, who designed her costumes for Tenet.
Praising his patience she said that Jeffrey was really kind. “He understood all my nonsense and nonsense. He struggled with me, poor guy. But what a look he created. It was absolutely beautiful!” The actress exclaimed. For those unfamiliar, Tenet is a science fiction action thriller film written and directed by Christopher Nolan. It also stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh. Kapadia plays Priya Singh, an Indian arms smuggler and member of Tenet.
Kapadia also played the lead role in Farhan Akhtar’s comedy film Dil Chahta Hai. During the same chat, he revealed that it was his co-star and dear friend Akshaye Khanna who convinced him to be a part of the 2001 film. “Akshay Khanna called me. He was very cute. He said, ‘Please, please, do it for me.’ And yes, I said, ‘of course’. And thank God I did that because working with Zoya (Akhtar) and working with that team was completely… I think by this time, it was a different kind of generation that I was working with. Was doing,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, on the work front, she was seen in Murder Mubarak and Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya earlier this year.
