Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said it is the right time to join India’s growth story, as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met the Prime Minister in the national capital along with a business delegation.
Addressing the 18th Asia-Pacific Summit of German Business 2024, PM Modi said the time has come for foreign investors to participate in India’s growth story and join the ‘Make in India’ initiative and ‘Make for the World’ Has gone.
PM Modi said, “This is the right time to join India’s growth story as the country is becoming a global trade and manufacturing hub.” He said that the country stands on strong pillars of democracy, demography, demand and data.
Germany has expressed that India’s skilled manpower is amazing as the European nation has decided to increase the visa for skilled Indian workforce from 20,000 to 90,000.
Chancellor Scholz arrived in Delhi late Thursday night as part of his three-day official visit to India.
The German Chancellor said that he wants to deepen defense ties with India and bring the armies of the two countries closer.
He said, “Our overall message is clear, we need more cooperation, not less. In our inter-governmental consultations with India, we also want to deepen cooperation in defense and agreed to bring our forces together Are.”
The German Chancellor will visit Goa on Saturday, where the German naval frigate ‘Baden-Wurttemberg’ and combat support ship ‘Frankfurt am Main’ are making a scheduled port call as part of Germany’s Indo-Pacific deployment.
Earlier in the day, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stressed on understanding and respecting mutual sensitivities to rapidly advance India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
Addressing the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business, the minister said “exceptional” issues such as labor and climate change should be discussed in international forums.
“If the sensitivities are respected on both sides, a trade deal can be concluded rapidly,” Goyal said at the German Business Asia-Pacific Summit in the Indian capital. German Economy Minister Robert Habach also attended the conference.
