Israel rejects Hamas claims of killing hostages, two killed in attack in Lebanon
The Israel-Hamas war has displaced much of the region’s population and killed more than 36,000 Palestinians. Israel has faced global criticism, with a UN court ordering Israel to halt its offensive on the southern city of Rafah.

Two people were killed in an Israeli air strike on the outskirts of the southern Lebanese city of Aitaroun on Saturday, Lebanon’s state news agency NNA reported. On Saturday, Israel carried out its biggest hostage rescue operation since the war with Hamas began, taking four people to safety outside central Gaza.
Meanwhile, a Gaza health official said at least 210 Palestinians, including children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the same area, a claim denied by the Israeli military. Israel launched intense aerial bombardment of the densely populated Gaza Strip in response to Hamas’s October 7 attack and the war has been ongoing since then.
