Singer Shreya Ghoshal was performing at her concert in Kolkata on Saturday, October 19, when a couple decided to make the day more special for themselves. A man in the crowd went down on his knees to propose to his girlfriend and the two got engaged, much to the surprise of the National Award-winning singer.

The man got up first and asked Shreya if he could propose to his girlfriend there. The singer, who was already smiling, asked her to introduce herself first, and then asked her to go ahead and “do it the right way”. The entire incident was captured in a video and went viral on social media.

Another person present at the concert shared the video on X and told the whole story. The user going by the name @_pehlanasha_ wrote, “Today, at Shreya Ghoshal’s concert, a man held a placard that read, ‘Shreya, you are my second love.’ Shreya notices this and asks, ‘Then who is your first love?’ (sic).”

She further added, “The boy pointed towards his girlfriend and said that he wanted to propose her for marriage in front of the entire crowd. Then he put a ring on her finger and Shreya dedicated ‘Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai’ to her. ” ,

Shreya teased the man and asked him if he wanted her to chant mantras in the background. ,let me recite the main mantra…” he asked her, and as the audience laughed, he sang his popular Bollywood number to celebrate the day for the couple.

The singer is on a national tour for a year as part of her ‘All Hearts Tour – An Evening of Melody, where music meets magic’. She will next perform in Chandigarh on October 27, Lucknow on December 21, Indore on January 11 and Surat on January 18.
