After Vasan’s comment on the failure of Jigra, internet users started calling him ‘arrogant’ for not accepting the failure of the film. After the account was deleted, many users defended Bala and said that he alone should not be held responsible for the failure of the film.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wasson said that things have been “tough” since the film’s release. He admitted that releasing his films has always been a struggle for him. Still, this time the film was released on a large scale, and he wasn’t sure how to process it. The filmmaker stressed the responsibility of belonging to the mainstream to perform at the box-office.

“The failure was surprising because you clearly were not prepared to fail. At the same time, this wasn’t a very stubborn, I’ll-only-deliver-it-this-way kind of movie. I thought it was a very accessible, straight-forward film, and the emotions were universal,” he said, further admitting that he disappointed producers Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt.

Starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, it was a jail-break story that told the story of a sister who does anything to save her brother imprisoned in a foreign land. Manoj Pahwa was also in the lead role in this.
