Darshan Thoogudeepa case: NCR registered against jailed actor for threatening producer; report

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who has been accused of allegedly murdering his fan Renukaswamy, has found himself in yet another legal trouble. The actor, who is currently serving his judicial custody in Bellary jail, is once again in the news after an NCR case was registered against Darshan Thoogudeepa.

According to a report in News 18, the actor has been accused of threatening producer Bharat. The report also claims that the NCR was registered at Kengeri police station on Friday (October 18, 2024). Darshan Thoogudeepa’s manager Nagaraj is also mentioned in the complaint. Let us tell you, Bharat is a filmmaker who is known for his contribution to the Kannada film industry.

Meanwhile, Darshan Thoogudeepa, accused of murdering his fan Renukaswamy, was denied bail in the case on October 14. Along with him, the bail of his alleged accomplice Pavitra Gowda was also rejected by the court. As per the latest reports, the Kannada actor moved the higher court and filed a bail plea challenging the previous decision of the lower court.

According to a report in Times Now, Darshan Thoogudeepa’s new bail plea in the Karnataka High Court also includes a request for an emergency hearing. Apart from this, co-accused and actress Pavitra Gowda has also approached the court for her bail. The high court is expected to hear the matter by October 22, 2024. For those unaware, Darshan Thoogudeepa brutally murdered Renukaswami for allegedly sending inappropriate messages to Pavitra Gowda.

According to media reports, the jailed actor kidnapped Renukaswamy and kept him in a shed, where Darshan and his associates tortured him before killing him. On June 9, 2024, Renukaswamy’s body was discovered by local authorities near a storm drain in Bengaluru’s Sumanahalli area.

Furthermore, their post-mortem report revealed that the deceased victim was missing one ear, had testicles torn and had innumerable wounds and bruises all over his body.
