Samsung shares its Galaxy Ring unboxing, months after launch

Must read

Samsung began teasing the Galaxy Ring in late February and then released the product five months later. The wearable device has been selling in multiple markets for quite some time now, and the company decided to share a more real-life experience from its personal perspective long after the reviews were out.

The company shared several great videos showcasing the user experience while unboxing the new wearable. The Galaxy Ring comes in a transparent plastic case packed in a neat black retail box.

The ring is located in the center of the case, with an LED light surrounding the device to indicate battery capacity. The Galaxy Ring comes in eight sizes, ranging from US size 5 to 13.

Samsung offers the Galaxy Ring in three colors – black, silver and gold – thanks to its titanium body.

The charging case can indicate the battery level by pressing the center button, and the battery can be filled via the USB-C port. It’s not mentioned in Samsung’s article, but wireless charging is also supported.

The company wanted to point out that it is perfectly fine to wash hands with the Galaxy Ring, as it is 10 ATM water resistant.

There are three sensors inside the ring – for skin temperature, heart rate and accelerometer. These track all types of health data and then visualize it on the Samsung Health app. Interestingly, Samsung says the Galaxy Ring app “must first be paired with a Galaxy smartphone,” but in reality, it works with any phone that has the Health app installed.

Samsung left one big question at the end of its unboxing – how do you find the right size for you? When purchasing through the Samsung Online Store, you are first sent a free sizing kit so you can choose the correct size. Or you can visit a Samsung Experience Store if you have one.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring supports some Air gestures, but as per the fine print, they only work with devices running One UI 6.1.1, which are only the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
