In a new promo of the upcoming season of singing reality TV show Indian Idol, singer and composer Vishal Dadlani can be seen scolding a contestant who tries to imitate singer Atif Aslam’s singing style. Dadlani gave strict advice to the contestant, warning that if he continued imitating the Pakistani singer, he might have to ‘perform in hotels and restaurants’.

21-year-old singer Lakshya Mehta from Amritsar failed to impress the judges. As soon as she started singing Atif Aslam’s song ‘Pehli Nazar Mein’, the judges stopped her performance and reprimanded her for imitating the singer. Vishal said, “Don’t sing like that. This is Indian Idol. Idols are born here. Forget about his nuances; he is a leading artiste. The day you imitate him, you will stop singing only in hotels and restaurants. Will do.”
