Fauji 2: Shah Rukh’s iconic 1989 series returns with Vicky Jain and Gauhar Khan
Shahrukh Khan’s iconic series Fauji is all set to return with the second part. Produced by Sandeep Singh, it will star Gauahar Khan and Vicky Jain in the lead roles.
Shahrukh Khan’s iconic 1989 serial Fauji is all set to return with a new edition. Filmmaker Sandeep Singh, in collaboration with Doordarshan, will bring Fauji 2 to the audience in an updated and modern format with Gauahar Khan and Vicky Jain.
Fauji 2 will introduce businessman and actor Ankita Lokhande’s husband Vikas Jain to mainstream television. Vikas, who was previously known for his appearances in reality shows like Bigg Boss 17, will play the character of Colonel Sanjay Singh. Gauhar Khan will play the role of Lieutenant Colonel Simarjeet Kaur and a cadet trainer with expertise in weapon handling.
The serial focuses on the hardships, struggles and camaraderie of army personnel and introduces new actors in pivotal roles.
Talking about the new show, director Sandeep Singh said, “We are bringing back one of the greatest shows ever seen on television, but in a new and exciting version. 1989’s Fauji gave us Shah Rukh Khan, an actor who enthralled the entire nation not only with his unconventional looks but also with his extraordinary energy and talent. With Fauji 2, I hope to recreate history and connect with every Indian, especially the youth.
Apart from Vicky, 12 new actors will also be introduced in the entertainment industry. The show will star Ashish Bhardwaj, Utkarsh Kohli, Charkhi Dadri, Rudra Soni, Aman Singh Deep, Ayaan Manchanda, Neil Satpura, Suvansh Dhar, Priyanshu Rajguru, Udit Kapoor, Mansi, Sushmita Bhandari in lead roles.
Adding to the appeal, singer Sonu Nigam has lent his voice to the title track of Fauji 2. The show has 11 songs, the music of which is composed by Shreyas Puranik. Music directors Shashi Suman and Jaizim Sharma have also contributed, with lyrics by Prashant Ingole, Mahima Bhardwaj and Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay.
Produced by Sandeep Singh and co-produced by Vikas Jain and Zafar Mehdi, Fauji 2 marks the series debut of film director Abhinav Pareek, who previously directed Sab Moh Maya Hai and A Wedding Story.
The show will air on Doordarshan and will be broadcast in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi and Bengali.
