Govinda, who started his career in the 1980s, is known as the comedy king of Hindi cinema. The actor is best known for his collaboration with David Dhawan in films like Hero No. 1, Coolie No. 1, Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan and others. Director Anees Bazmee recently revealed that Aamir Khan has watched Govinda’s Sandwich three times. Anees shared that the superstar praised the actor’s comic timing in the 2006 film.
In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Anees Bazmee was asked about his directorial venture Sandwich getting recognition on television. Anees shared an anecdote about meeting Aamir Khan and told that he has watched the Govinda starrer thrice.
“I met Aamir Khan in the middle. I am a big fan. He is a very nice person. So I said to him ‘Anees Bhai, I have seen your film Sandwich. What a film. I have seen it three times. I said ‘Sandwich have you seen three times?’ ‘ said the director.
Recalling Aamir’s words, the Sandwich director shared that he loved Govinda’s comic timing. Anees also recalled the superstar praising the fact that the hero in the film had dual roles and the two children were identical twins.
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director concluded by saying that Sandwich was a “lovely” film.

Sandwich starred Govinda, Raveena Tandon and Mahima Chaudhary in lead roles. Raveena and Mahima played his on-screen wives. The film also stars Mohnish Bahl, Shammi Kapoor, Ananth Mahadevan and others. It was remade in Kannada with the name Double Decker.
On the work front, Anees Bazmee is prepping for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. It is the third installment of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series. Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the original film, was directed by Priyadarshan. Anees has directed both the second and third parts of the franchise.
Kartik Aryan plays the role of Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. In the film, he is paired with Animal fame Trupti Dimri. Vidya Bala, who played Manjulika in the 2007 film, is also reprising her role in the Kartik-starrer. It also stars Madhuri Dixit, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz and Sanjay Mishra in important roles. Madhuri has also been cast in the role of Manjulika.
Anees Bazmee has also directed films like No Entry, Welcome, Singh Is King and No Problem.
