Amitabh Bachchan told that Sharabi was narrated to him on the air
Amitabh Bachchan revealed that his film Sharabi was conceived in the air. He shared an anecdote while hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 16.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, shared how his hit film Sharabi was conceived in mid-air while he was flying between New York and the West Indies. He shared the story with Aligarh contestant Dinesh Kumar.
As the gameplay began, Big B asked a question related to the 1984 classic Sharabi, which revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes story. Recalling the making of the film, Amitabh Bachchan shared, “We were traveling from New York to the West Indies with Kalyanji-Anandji’s orchestra, and Prakash Mehra (director) was with us. During the flight, the thought of being an alcoholic came to Prakash ji’s mind.
Big B further added, “When we were on air he told the whole story and asked my thoughts. I just said, ‘Okay, let’s think about it.’ When we returned, he had already written the script, however, the dialogues were incredibly long – some spanning 2-3 pages!
Curious about the challenges of filming, Dinesh asked more questions, which led to another amusing anecdote from Amitabh Bachchan. He said humorously in his usual manner, “No, no, listen… the story is not over yet (The story is not over yet),” before sharing what he said to Prakash Mehra. He told Mehra, “You made me a drunkard throughout the film and a drunkard takes time to speak.” If I spoke these 4 pages of dialogues the movie would go on for hours. Please make them smaller.” Prakash ji agreed and the conversation was brief.
Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16 is currently airing every Monday to Friday. 9 PM, only on Sony Entertainment Television.
