Apart from being an industrialist, Ratan Tata was also a film lover. The 86-year-old co-produced a Bollywood film in 2004. He was involved in the production of Aitbaar, a romantic psychological thriller directed by Vikram Bhatt, starring Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu.

Ratan Tata co-produced the film with Jatin Kumar. Atbar was inspired by the 1996 Hollywood film Fear. It was produced under the banner of Tata BSS. The film highlights themes of passion and family relationships, exploring the dark side of romantic fixation.

However, despite a promising star cast and significant buzz surrounding the film’s release, Etbaar struggled at the box office, grossing only Rs 7.96 crore against a production budget of Rs 9.50 crore. This is the only film ever produced by Ratan Tata.

Etabar also failed to win over critics, with many criticizing the film for its clichéd dialogues and overused themes.
