Rachel Sennott has been cast to play Rosie Shuster in the upcoming SNL movie. The actress talked about her experience on the sets and how she coped with the script and schedule. In conversation with People Magazine, Sennott recalled talking about the personality she was playing and felt that it was one of the “coolest” characters she had played so far in her career.
As for Rosie Shuster, she wrote the inaugural episode of SNL in 1975 and was the wife of showrunner Lorne Michaels. Speaking to the entertainment portal, the actress mentioned about the former SNL writer, “I got a chance to talk to Rosie, and she’s amazing.” She added, “She’s so nice, smart and funny and I feel like I’m going to meet her in person for the first time at the premiere.”
Sennott further said that even when he spoke to the screenwriter on the phone, the feeling of pressure remained. But when the two met in person, the actress claimed that Shuster is a cool, smart, and funny person. The Finally Don actress shared, “Talking to him on the phone right now, of course there’s still pressure. But more than anything, I was very excited. Because I wanted everyone to know (about him). “
Sennott will play an important role in the film, as she will play a man who usually stays behind the scenes, yet deserves a lot of credit for popularizing the concept of the comedy sketch. He also played a big role in making the show successful.
