Mahima Chaudhary on ‘dream debut’ with Shahrukh: I was not the most talented
Actress Mahima Chaudhary recently spoke to us about her career and recalled her ‘dream debut’ opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Actress Mahima Chaudhary, who rose to fame with her debut film ‘Pardes’ opposite Shahrukh Khan, is all set for her upcoming OTT release ‘Signature’ on ZEE5. During a recent interaction with India Today Digital, the actor talked about her first role and said that she was lucky as she got to share screen space with then superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Speaking to India Today Digital, Mahima said, “When you are doing your first film, you imagine all kinds of things, but Pardes, I must say, was something I never dreamed about. I didn’t even think that my first film was better than a dream. There is something called luck that plays an important role, because it is not that I was the most talented. There were many people who were more talented than me. ”
“Although luck played an important role in me getting my first film, it would be fair to say that I fit into the character well because I too am from a small town, so it was relatively easy for me to play the character. That role with conviction. In olden times, it used to happen that often a new female actor was launched along with a new male actor. But, I was lucky and I was launched with the biggest superstar of that time, Shahrukh Khan,” Mahima added.
When asked if she would like to see the film re-released in theatres, Mahima said, “In the last two years, whatever anniversaries happened, everyone said please call Mahima for it. Of course, they couldn’t afford to have Shahrukh come and celebrate 25 years, but I was invited. It’s good to know that today’s generation also remembers Pardes in the same way,” the actor concluded.
