Ananya Panday is now gearing up for Vikramaditya Motwane’s cyber-thriller, CTRL. Ananya is now opening up about how the SOTY2 actress gets angry at herself ‘all the time’, however, she has become better in recent times. Talking about her previous work, the Call Me Bay star admitted that she couldn’t hear her own voice at that time.
During her new interview with Humans of Bombay, Ananya Panday was asked to comment on whether she ever felt ‘humiliated’ after watching her interviews, films or any previous work.
Ananya admitted, “I’m upset with myself all the time. I think I’ve gotten better at seeing myself on screen, but when I started out, even if someone is watching my video on their phone, So I would run out of the room. Like I couldn’t hear my voice.”
The CTRL actress said that she cannot see herself on screen. Ananya even said that she would not want people to see her work. The Call Me Bay star shared that she used to be nervous at the time, adding that things have gotten better these days.
In an earlier interview with India Today, Ananya Panday had talked about whether she gives importance to people’s opinion about her. The Pati Patni Aur Woh actress shared that she is taking risks in her career and her self-esteem depends on how people view her work. The young actress clarified that she is not taking his two cents seriously on her personal life.
Ananya’s upcoming film CTRL also stars mismatched actor Vihaan Samat in the lead role. It will release on Netflix on October 4, 2024. It is co-produced by Nikhil Dwivedi and Arya A Menon. It is noteworthy that the makers of CTRL have recently released the trailer of Ananya-starrer on YouTube.
In the trailer, Ananya as Naila can be seen creating an account on an artificial intelligence application called CTRL. Her character is shown handing over control of her life to a digital identity that erases her lover Joe from real life.
Mismatched actor Vihaan Samat plays the role of Joe in the upcoming film. The trailer also has a cameo by YouTubers Rohan Joshi and Tanmay Bhatt.
On the work front, after her big debut in 2019, Ananya Panday was seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh the same year. Apart from Ananya, the 2019 film featured Kartik Aryan and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. The actress then worked with Ishaan Khattar in Khaali Peeli in 2020.
In 2022, Ananya was featured in Shakun Batra’s directorial debut Ghahraiyaan. It featured Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karva in lead roles. She later worked in South star Vijay Deverakonda’s film Liger, which was simultaneously released in Telugu.
Ananya then starred in the 2023 coming-of-age buddy-drama, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, also starring Adarsh Gourav and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead roles.
The actress made her digital debut this year with the comedy-drama, Call Me Bey, produced by Karan Johar. It premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 6, 2024. The series will be renewed for a second season.
Ananya Pandey, born to Chunky Pandey and Bhavana Pandey, started her career with Karan Johar’s 2019 film Student of the Year 2. It also starred Tiger Shroff and newcomer Tara Sutaria in the lead roles.
