Ex user shared a picture of his restaurant bill, revealed he got free food because of this "Love"

We all look forward to enjoying delicious food at our favourite restaurants. But what if you are told that the bill will be delivered at home? Sounds like a scene from a movie, right? Well, something similar happened to a man at the restaurant. The customer revealed that he had ordered a falafel pita at Mediterranean food chain CAVA. He also uploaded a picture of his receipt, which clearly showed that the dish cost $11.05 (roughly Rs. 960) but the total was $0. Moreover, the bill had the word ‘love’ written below the subtotal. “Did the person who made my sandwich love me? I tried to pay and he said, ‘You’re ready,’ and this was the receipt,” the post read. Since being shared, the post has been viewed over 3 million times. Internet users were quick to react to it, with people sharing their thoughts and theories about the situation. One person responded to his own question about the server’s feelings by saying, “Signs point to yes.”

Another user questioned why he didn’t go back to talk to the server and said, “Instead of talking to her, you are posting this to get likes from strangers.” To this, the customer clarified that he was straight.

Another said: “This happens to me sometimes and I think ‘I still have it’ but then I realise I look homeless.”

However, the truth behind this heartwarming gesture is something else entirely. David Garcia, the manager of a CAVA location in Huntersville, spoke about this in 2018. He reportedly revealed that CAVA has a ‘Love’ button on its cash register. This button allows servers to brighten someone’s day, especially when they know a customer is having a bad day, forgot their wallet, or is a regular customer there.
Despite good intentions, CAVA warns customers not to take advantage of the feature. CAVA adds, “While the Hi! Love button exists, it is at the discretion of our team members. For their benefit, please do not ask them to give away your food for free.”

This kind of gesture isn’t just limited to CAVA. Other fast-food chains like Chick-fil-A also practice acts of kindness. During their ‘Sunshine Week,’ they sometimes include heartfelt notes in customers’ food bags. Have you ever received a ‘gesture of love’ from a brand?
