Stock Market Update: Nifty Bank Index up 0.51%

New Delhi: The Nifty Bank Index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Punjab National Bank (2.14 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd (1.39 per cent), State Bank of India (1.11 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd (0.92 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (0.81 per cent) ended the day as the top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Federal Bank Limited (down 0.1 percent) ended as the day’s top loser.

The Nifty Bank index rose 0.51 percent to close at 54375.35.

The benchmark NSE Nifty50 index rose 211.9 points to close at 26216.05, while the BSE Sensex rose 666.25 points to 85836.12.
