George Clooney reveals he pranked Tom Cruise by pretending to be Brad Pitt and sent him a proposal to make a sequel to this film

Must read

We have all seen George Clooney playing a shy guy on screen in several movies, but the actor is famous for his mischievous personality in real life. Recently, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor revealed how he plays pranks on his fellow cast members and friends.

During the September 17, 2024 episode, the star said he has a hobby of sending people letters that look like they belong to another person or actor. According to Clooney, he even sent letters to his friends in the name of former President Bill Clinton.

Recalling the time the show’s host Jimmy Kimmel gifted him fake stationery featuring Clinton, 78, and Brad Pitt, Clooney further said he usually tries to find an actor’s worst movie and talk about it in his funny letters.

“The Brad Pitt one was pretty brutal,” said George, adding that he also sent it to Don Cheadle as well as Mission: Impossible legend Tom Cruise.

Clooney said, “I sent it to Tom Cruise saying he wanted to do (Interview with the Vampire 2).” The Perfect Storm actor further recalled that he mentioned in the letter that this time Brad Pitt wanted to play Lestat.

Adding to his words, Jimmy Kimmel also responded that World War Z actor Brad Pitt “said this afternoon that Tom called him” and that he had agreed to give Pitt the role of Lestat.

While the Bullet Train actor had no idea what the Days of Thunder actor was about to do, he simply responded, “What are you talking about?” Kimmel said.

Well, it wasn’t just the Iron Man actor and Tom Cruise who fell for Clooney’s prank, but in fact so was Meryl Streep, who the Burn After Reading star sent a letter to along with a box of CDs to learn the dialect.

For those who don’t know, Tom Cruise and the Mr. and Mrs. Smith actor starred in the 1994 film Interview with the Vampire. The two played two vampires who are trying to live in the 18th and 19th centuries.

For fans of Kirsten Dunst, the film also stars a young Spider-Man actress. Brad Pitt and George Clooney recently shared the screen in Wolves.

Wolves was released in select theaters on September 20. The film will be available on Apple TV+ from September 27.
